Our exquisitely soft cashmere comes from the Cashmere goat which lives in the mountainous regions of China, India and Mongolia. To survive the arctic winters as well as the scorching summers of these mountains, the goats develop tiny hairs under their coarser outer fleece, and it is these hairs which give cashmere fabric its exceptional softness and warmness. Cashmere fiber is four times thinner than a human hair and keeps the body eight times warmer than wool. Each year the goat provides 250 to 300 grams of fiber, equivalent to one knitted pullover and this is what makes cashmere so precious and valuable.

Here are some recommendations to preserve the precious quality of your cashmere garments for a long duration:

• Cashmere garments should be hand-washed gently with shampoo in lukewarm water or dry cleaned to maintain its softness. Squeeze gently, but do not twist or wring garments while washing.
• Lay the sweater flat on a dry towel and let it air-dry, or use a drying rack.
• Fold clothes or pack them neatly in tissue paper or a plastic bag and store them in a closet away from light, dust and dampness.
• To store a pure cashmere sweater during summer, the most important thing is to keep moisture away, so please do not store your cashmere sweaters in a damp place. A well-sealed plastic storage box (available in discount stores) works very well. Try not to wear the same garment too frequently. Allow the garment one day's rest after a day's wearing.
• Pilling is caused by abrasion during regular use. It often develops around the elbows, on the seats of skirts, and in areas rubbed by a bag, briefcase or sometimes a seat belt. Soft, fuzzy surfaces are naturally more susceptible. So for cashmere products, some pilling is normal after repeated usage.
• To avoid pilling, it is important to try to avoid rubbing the cashmere garment against rough clothing, metal accessories, bags and belts.
• To remove pills, just manually pick them off. Do not rub or brush a cashmere garment.
